2020 Sunday League #Series2 – September – Houghton

With Spring welcoming back the warmer weather and course starting to transform Houghton Golf Club host the 9th Event of the #Series Season on Sunday the 27th of September 2020.

A regular fixture on the Duckhook Calendar over the Seasons, Houghton offers a test of golf on its 6 434 metres, Par 72 Parklands course featuring well bunkered fairways, challenging water hazards and tricky undulating putting greens.

With only 5 rounds left of the Season, the Top 10 players on the standings will be looking for good scores in the quest to secure their spots for the 2021 Duckhook Team Shootout! The Shootout is a 36 hole event with Team Matches in the morning and Singles in the Afternoon. The #Series2 Champion will Captain the team as well as choose 2 Wild Cards to join the Team.

#Series2 Tour Calendar features 11 League events from January to November with each event being played at a different golf course in and around Gauteng. The League format is Individual Stableford, the player with the most points at the end of the season will win a Weekend Away at Nkonyeni Golf Estate!

The Tour also features 4 qualifying Majors which will see the Top 12 Ranked players from the 3 Gauteng Leagues qualify for the 32 to 40 player Medal Tournament.

Houghton will be the 3rd and Final qualifying round for the 3rd Major of the Season, The Players Championship to be played on Friday the 2nd of October at Country Club Johannesburg’s Rocklands course.

Player Ranking points will be allocated to each finishing position and the player with the most points following all 19 Events will be crowned the Gauteng Player of the Season!
