The 1st Major of the Season, the Duckhook Masters took place at Serengeti Golf Estate, where the Top 48 qualifiers from the January to March qualifying cycle earn their change to compete for the Major.
The 2023 Masters was proudly sponsored by Glenfiddich. The Champion would take away a custom Glenfiddich / Adidas Tour bag. To add to the sponsorship the Top 6 finishers received an special invite to join Glenfiddich for a Whisky and Dinner evening to experience the World most awarded single malt Whisky.
The Masters came down to a Play-off between Martin Taute and Stefan Henriet who both posted-2 (38 points). After 2 extra holes on Serengeti’s 18th Hole both players could not be separated. The Play-off would be decided with only the second ever 18 Hole Play-offs at a Series Event.
The Wanderers was the venue for the Play-off during the Sunday Series#2 Season. The first 9 holes the Match was closely contested until Stefan Henriet managed to win 3 holes to pull out a lead. Martin managed to fight back to get the Match back to All Square with only 1 hole to play. The advantage also in his favour after winning the Stroke one with more points.
Stefan would sink a 2 meter putt to put one hand on the trophy while waiting for Martin to make his putt to half the match and take the Title. Unfortunately Martin would miss the putt seeing Stefan Henriet becoming the 2023 Masters Champion!
Stefan earns himself 850 player ranking points, The Glenfiddich / Adidas Tour bag valued at over R6000 and exemption into the next 4 Majors.
