Linoshin Moodley overcomes the Wind at Durban CC to take Victory on +3 (33 points)

The October Durban Series took place at Durban Country Club on Sunday the 9th of October.

 

For the first time Durban Country Club hosted a Series event where 12 players tee it up on a sunny but windy day. The wind started to blow early at 40Kph and made it difficult for the second last event of the season.

 

Getting off to a hot start Manie Esterhuizen making 2 Pars in the first 2 holes and only making 1 blackout on a front nine leaving him on 20 points and hot favourite to secure his second win of the season. Manie made a few drop shots on the back nine to leave him with the early club house lead.

 

Playing in the last fourbal of the day Hayden Stone, current season leader was hot on the trail of Manie and making 5 Pars on the back nine keeping him up with Manie. Playing the 18th hole we had a 2 way tie for the lead. Hayden and Linoshin both hit great tee shots on the 18th leaving both with wedges in the hand. Coming up short Hayden had a difficult chip into the wind and landed a bit long. Linoshin playing the back nine only hitting a 4 Iron off the tee only dropping 2 shots had a difficult putt after hitting his second shot long on the 18th. Hayden forcing him to putt first left the first putt a bit short of the hole. Hayden putting in for bogey after just missing the par putt for the win. it was all up to Linoshin to sink the par putt for the outright win of the day, missing it again. Working out that he will win on the count back he sank the 1 foot putt and won his second event with Duckhook.
