The May Sunday #Series1 Event took place at Jackal Creek Golf Estate on Sunday the 2nd May.
The 2021 Season will feature 11 Events at Golf Courses in and around Gauteng including 4 qualifying Majors. 10 out of 11 scores will count towards the final Individual Stableford points Total giving players the leeway to have their lowest score fall away or miss an event.
The Race to the 2021 Series Championship is proudly Sponsored by Srixon. Going into the 4th Event of the Series, Randal Chetty and JP Atwood lead the pack on 115 I.S points, Wayne Jeanson tees off in 3rd position on 112 points while Prinay Panday starts in 4th position a further point back on 111.
A host of players made scoring on the Jackal Creek layout look easy with the top 17 players finishing Even Par or better. Barry Venter (14) constructed a great round to finish on -6 (42 points) 22 points on the front nine, which included 6 Pars and a Birdie saw Barry making the turn on -4. Another -2 (20 points) on his inward nine concluded his round to take the joint lead. Leon du Plessis would join Barry as the co-leader after also carding 42 points. Playing off his 20 handicap, Leon made 21 points on each nine which included 7 Pars and 1 Birdie. A front nine count back separated the players in favour of Leon du Plessis seeing him take his first Duckhook victory on the Duckhook Tour, including 550 Player Ranking points, 1000 credits and an automatic entry into the Duckhook Open.
After 5 Round on Series1, Randal Chetty remains in the lead moving his tally to 150 I.S points. Prinay Panday moves up to 2nd place on 146 points now only 4 shots behind the leader. Graham de Villiers joins Prinay in 2nd place moving up 5 places from 7th. Wayne Jeanson, Kobus Schoeman, Danie Geldnehuys and Jaco Jacobs all hold the 4th spot on 140 points. Plenty to play for over the next 6 Event.
