The 4th event of the 2021 Duckhook Golfers Durban Series took place on Sunday the 18th of April at Mt. Edgecombe Golf Estate on the Lakes Course.

The 2021 Season is made up of 11 Events from January to November, all taking place at a different golf club to test the player’s skills over 11 months. The Series leaderboard will be determined by the most Individual Stableford Points earned over the 11 Events, with the luxury of 10 out of the 11 scores counting towards the final tally. Allowing a player to miss an event or the worst score falling out to still fight for the Title.

This Season, Srixon will be sponsoring the Series, with the Champion walking away with a year’s supply of Srixon Golf Balls!

Going into the Event, Marius Engelbrecht continues to lead the Durban Series after his 2nd Victory in succession, moving his points Total to 102 at and average of 34.00 I.S Points.
Andrew Godfrey jumps from 5th to 2nd only 4 points back on 98 points. Ashwin Ramchad and Kobus Nel complete the Top 3 a further point back on 97. 

A record 28 Players arrived for an early morning start at Mount Edgecombe on the Lakes layout. Joining the Durban league event for the first time Russell Tandy made it look easy on the first nine making 2 Birdies and 2 Par’s to take the early halfway lead on -1 (19points). A familiar face at the top of the leaderboard Kobus Nel joined Russel at the top making 7 par’s on the front nine. Russell would end the day on +5 (31 points) while Kobus Nel completed his round on 33 points.
 
Newcomer Danie Nell playing off his 14 handicap made 2 Birdies and 4 Pars carding +1, 35 points just came short of winning his first event. Andrew Goddfrey playing his normal consistent golf accumulated the most points on the day an Even Par 36 points to win by 1 point. Andrew’s win secured him the Final Automatic spot in the first major of the Season, the Durban Masters hosted at Durban Country Club.
 
After 4 Rounds Andrew Godfrey now leads the Tour on 134 points at an average of 33,50. Two time winner Marius Engelbrecht slips down to 2nd place 3 shot back on 131 points. Kobus Nel rounds up the Top 3 a further point back on 130.
 
The next Series event will be on Sunday 16th of May at Umhlali.
