Jack Lamp Triumphs at Mr Edgecombe by 2 shots carding Even Par (36 points)

A cloudy morning greeted 16 players at the 5th event of the season being hosted by Mt Edgecombe The Woods. After the night’s rain the course was playing wet and very long as no carts were allowed on the course.

 

Coming from his Major win the week before Diyashil Chetty made an eagle on the par 5 shooting a gross 39 on the back nine 1 shot back from the lead on 18 Points. Kobus Nel played consistently, taking the early lead on 19 points.

 

Kobus took an unfortunate drop on the 14th and 16th hole dropping him back to +2. Diyashil kept his cool on the front nine making a birdie to bring him back to even par with 4 holes to play. Playing in only his second event of the year Jack Lamp made the course look easy making a total of 8 pars and 2 birdies for the day. Coming up to the last hole Jack only needed to make bogey to secure the win. He duffed his tee shot to the short par# 9th hole leaving him a difficult chip with water to the left, leaving his chip short from the pin he missed the par putt leaving him a knee knocking putt from 5ft. He casually walked up and just tapped in to take his first win of the season and first win with Duckhook.
