2020 Sunday League – Simbiti Eco Estate

The Durban Sunday League Season returned after 3 months to restart the League at Simbithi Eco Estate on Sunday the 12th of July.

The unique layout the Simbithi course enables golfers to test their skills with 13 short holes (all par threes) and five long holes (four par fours and one par five). The rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal lend the course a beautiful terrain, as do the dams that are scattered about it.

15 Players enjoyed the return to golf with Andrew Godfrey taking a two show victory on +1, 35 points over Kobus Nel on +3 and 3rd place and Ryan Birnie on +6. Playing off his 9 handicap, Andrew’s scorecard included; 8 Pars and 1 Birdie to shoot 70 on the Par 60 course. Andrew also collects 400 player rankings point in the race to the Player of the Season.

The Durban Tour Calendar now features 8 League Events with each Event being played at a Different golf course in and around Durban. Each event will be an Individual Stableford format, requiring players to accumulate points over 18 holes.

The Tour will also feature a season ending Major, the Masters on the 29th of November which will be the first Medal event.

Player Ranking points will be allocated to each finishing position and the player with the most points at the end of the Season will be crowned the Player of the Season.
