The 2016 edition of the Duckhook Knockout saw 32 players battle it out throughout the Season to be crowned the best Match Player Duckhooker on Tour.

Winning 5 games in a row would not only claim the Knockout Title but also the 1st Prize of a R4500-00 Golfers Club Voucher!

After 7 Months 32 players whitteled down from the Round of 32 to the last remaining Finalists.

Alistair Sinclair drawn on Side A of the draw progressed with consistent, good results with the tightest match up in the Semi-Final against Johan Meyer to reach the Final:

Andre Kotze navigated his way to the Final from the B Side of the Draw having to overcome some stiff competition from the Round of 16 onwards. His resilience as a Match Play golfer proving to be to his advantage over his 4 opponents on the way to the Final.

The Final between Alistair Sinclair and Andre Kotze took place at Kyalami Golf Club where after going 1 up on the 2nd hole Andre Kotze stayed ahead of Alistair to take the Knockout Title on the 16th Hole to cap of a fantastic 2016 Season. Claiming the 4th Major of the Season, the Summer Cup, as well as the Thursday League Player of the Season, The 2016 Player of the Year and the 2016 Knockout Title!

How the much anticipated 2016 Knockout Tournament will work:

The Field is restricted to 32 players.
  • The Tour Rankings play a crucial role in the loyalty of the players throughout the season, reflecting their participation and passion for Duckhook.
  • The current Top 32 players in the 2016 Rankings will have 1st preference in entering the Knockout.
  • If you are keen to play in the Knockout please contact us on community@duckhookgolfers.co.za. The field will be compiled with the Top 32 available players and all other players thereafter will be allocated on a 1st come 1st serve basis.
 Competition Fee
  • The Competition fee will be R250-00 to secure a place in the Knockout. The Competition Fee will make up the Prize Pool.
  • Winner: R4500-00 Golfers Club Voucher, Runner-up R1500-00 Golfers Club Voucher, Semi-Final losers R250-00.
  • Entry will be confirmed once the entry fee of R250 is paid via EFT.
  • If the fee is not paid the player will forfeit his place for the next player on the list.
 Time Frame
  • Players will have one month to complete their match, there after the match will be forfeited and a coin toss will determine the winner.
  • Match Ups will be allocated to Thursday or Sunday League events.
  • Players also have the option to play their Knockout at their own convenience outside Duckhook Events. Please let us know when and where your Knockout will take place.
 Course
  • Match Ups will be allocated to the upcoming Thursday or Sunday League course to be played.
  • Players deciding to play their knockout outside of the League Events decide between themselves which course their Knockout will be played.
  • More than one Knockout can be play in a fourball.
 Match Play Format
  • The Knockout will be a Match Play format.
  • Players will play the strokes off the scorecard. 
  • The most Stableford points scored on each hole will determine the winner of the hole.
 Event of a Tie
  • In the event of the Match ending in a Tie after 18 holes, the Duckhook stroke 1 count-back rule will apply.

Live Scoring

  • All Knockout Matches will have Live Scoring set up for the rest of the Duckhook community to watch the action unfold.
